Whatdoesthedeskreviewtellusaboutthegender-relatedbarriersandopportunitiesaffordedtowomenandmen?Hasthereviewuncoveredquantitativedatathatcallforqualitativeinformationtounderstandwhat’sdrivingquantitativedisparities? Gapsandquestions—Whatremainstobediscovered,verified,andaddressedduringfieldwork?Whichteammembersarebestpositionedtogatherthisinformation? TheoutputofthissessioncanbesummarizedinaWorddocumentorinaPowerPointpresentation,andshouldfocusonkeythemes. 2.2PreparingtheFieldGuide Next,theteamcoordinatorleadsthepreparationofthefieldguide(sometimesreferredtoasa”zerodraft“),whichsummarizesthedatagatheredduringthedeskreviewandkeyissuesemergingfromtheteamdiscussion,andincludesadetailedoutlineofthereportwitheachsectionassignedtoaspecificteammember.Thefieldguidecouldtaketheformofadetailedmatrix,annotatedoutline,ordraftreport.Thekeyistoconsolidatewhatisknownabouttheprivatehealthsector,andidentifygapstoaddressduringthefieldresearch. Besuretohavetheproject’sgenderfocalpointorothergenderexpertreviewthefieldguidetoensureadequatepromptsongenderthroughout.
