BECOMING is a new sci-fi horror-thriller starring Toby Kebbell. It reminded me of a few other awesome horror stories while still being unique. Also,whilethismovieremindedmeofothers,itstillmanagedtodeliversomethingnew.EspeciallythecastofBecomingmanagestogivesomewonderfulperformancesthatbreathelifeintothisstory. I’llbetalkingaboutTobyKebbellinthisreviewsinceheplaysthekeycharacter.However,hisco-star,PenelopeMitchell(HellboyandLookAway),isalsoreallygoodinthis.Theybothdeliverperformancesthatmakethismovieverymuchworthwatching. ThefirstthingitremindedmeofwastheHBOseries TheOutsiderwhichisanadaptationofStephenKing’snovel.However,thatplotfeaturesanentityactuallycloningsomeone.Boththememoriesandvisualappearanceofapersoniscopiedwhilethe“original”goonliving. TobyKebbellisastellarleadingman I’vebeenafanofTobyKebbellforyears.IcannotrememberasinglemovieorTVserieswherehedidn’tgiveexcellentperformances.Heisjustalwaysmemorable. However,despitehisabilitytoportrayanimals,TobyKebbellisverymuchleadingmanmaterialandIamreallyhappytoseehimstarinBecoming.ThoughifyouknowthathehasportrayedbothKongandKobainpastmovies,youmightrecognizesomeofthosesavagemovesheusedwhenportrayinganape.
